Worship
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
Choir:
Our choir sings almost every Sunday. Check out our broadcast on cable channel (Insight Cable Channel 17 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.) My desire is to inspire worship in the singer and the listener using a variety of styles—contemporary, gospel, classical, traditional, secular, and spiritual—just to keep things fun, interesting, and alive!
Sometime during the year we do a few women’s light contemporary pieces and a men’s gospel/barber-shop style ensemble. High school and up are welcome! The choir meets each Wednesday at 7:30 P.M. in the Choir Rehearsal Room located on the lower level of the building.
HYZ:
This teen ensemble leads a few choruses every Sunday, as well as contributing solos, duets, rhythm, and djembe. The name comes from three Hebrew words: Hallel, Yadah, and Zamar, indicating that the believer can praise God with voice, hands, and instruments. So we sing, we play rhythm, and do interpretive movement. Practices are arranged as needed and often involve pizza or Skyline.
Children’s Music:
Our children have great fun with music on Wednesday nights as part of the TeamKid program. We have 20 minutes of singing, interpretive movement, and playing rhythm instruments. Children get an opportunity to perform at Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School and occasional Sunday mornings.
Instruments:
We have very talented people on piano, organ, flute, and guitar. We’d love to use other talented instrumentalists in our worship. Do you play guitar, percussion, horn, wind, or strings? If you haven’t been using your gifts for God lately, come worship through instruments with us.
Drama & Art:
We’re wanting to integrate more art and drama in our worship ministry through readings, skits, interpretive dance, environment, media, banners, and art. If you’d like to assist in enhancing worship in one of these ways, call me. I’m in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
